Since the early 1980’s most vehicles have been fitted with an engine management system. When you see an EMI (engine management light) illuminates on the dashboard, this indicates to the driver that a fault has developed within the engine management system. This produces one or more fault codes that are stored in the ECU (electronic control unit). All modern vehicles have an OBD diagnostic socket so when using the correct diagnostic equipment, the fault codes can be read, this will allow our technician to read, diagnose and advise the customer what the fault stored in the ECU could be.
